Technology behind the community website

This post replaces an obsolete static page of the Canadensys website, which was last updated on May 28, 2010.
The community portal is powered by WordPress, an excellent and easy-to-use open-source Content Management System (CMS) using PHP and MySQL. It allows us to create blog posts, update pages, add translations and edit settings from a well designed administration back-end.
We are also using the following WordPress plugins:
- Broken Link Checker
- Disable WPautop
- Disqus Comment System
- FeedBurner FeedSmith
- Google Analyticator
- qTranslate
- Index manager: our own plugin to automatically add an index of h2 titles at the top of a page, using some jQuery (see example). The index can be activated with the custom field pageIndex. Sadly, we haven’t found the time to publish it to the WordPress community. Contact us if you want to help us out.
